Tomorrow, the prolific Utrecht based company that provided businesses with a customer service dashboard for Whatsapp, will be declared bankrupt. According to founder and CEO Alexander Wijninga on Facebook, that’s not the only reason why the ‘young entrepeneur of year’-award winning startup will cease to exist.
The future of Hollywood settles in The Netherlands. Jaunt VR, the startup that develops hardware, software, tools, and applications to make virtual reality movies, opens a brand new office in Amsterdam. Jaunt VR stresses it is not just a sales office, they chose Amsterdam because of the high level of developers available. This makes it the first American company to conduct their R&D and development in The Netherlands. It is not entirely new ground for Jaunt VR. The company is founded in Palo Alto, but the founder was born and raised in The Netherlands.
After Canadian cloud-based point of sale retail innovator (what a mouthful) Lightspeed purchased Dutch startup success story SEOshop last November, the company has now revealed what their joint future will look like. Lightspeed CEO Dax Dasilva and SEOShop founder Ruud Stelder, now head of the European head office in Amsterdam, revealed their new “lovechild”: Omnichannel. Like proud parents, they announced the arrival of this brand new product, which has sprung from their merger roughly nine months after the acquisition.
