Pabbl has had difficult times, but in the last couple of months, the lock-screen advertising app from Amsterdam is flourishing. The startup has recently raised €500.000, increasing the total amount to almost €1M. More than 50.000 Android users have already downloaded the app. Last but not least, Pabbl won the Accenture Innovation Awards 2017 in the Social Voting category, legitimising the company even further. We talked to Bas Gerritsen, co-founder at Pabbl, about the startup’s latest achievements and their plans for the upcoming future.
Households in low-income neighborhoods have a 60% bigger chance of home-burglary or fire. These people feel really unsafe but often lack the money or power to do something about this. Dutch startup Homies wants to take care of this lack of security and therefore designed a simple, social and affordable home security solution.
At the Fujitsu Forum in Munich, five start-ups competed for the new Fujitsu Startup Award. The winner was Rombit, an IoT solutions provider and product engineering firm. The Belgian scaleup, also a finalist in the upcoming EIT Digital Challenge, helps companies and governments to optimize administrative workflows and to create rapid insights into company processes.
